Aquaponics is a system to feed yourself. It produces organic fruits, vegetable, herbs, greens and other produce plus is produces fish.

An aquaponics system has a series of beds that aren’t filled with soil, they are filled with rocks. Water from the fish tanks below which has fish waste in it is pumped into the growing beds. This solution is nutrient rich and grows massive plants. The plants and rocks absorb all of the waste and clean water goes back down into the fish tank.

With the right set up it is a great self sustaining way to grow your own food right in your back yard. You can even grow it under a green house to retain moisture.
